The Mainstream Media Fails Us

Two more examples of how the mainstream media fails us.

First, John Humphrys' performance this morning on Today - when he interviewed a confident and assured David Cameron - was Humphrys at his worst. Hectoring and abrasive, Humphrys has become a parody of himself. In the same way that Jeremy Paxman's sneer seems to have become more exaggerated as the years go by, so it is with Humphrys' aggressiveness. The question with which Humphrys ended the interview (about the Bullingdon Club) was pathetic.

Having criticised Cameron for not ending Punch & Judy politics, maybe Humphrys ought to look to end Punch & Judy interviewing. He wasted an opportunity to probe Cameron effectively. Cameron, on the other hand, was excellent.

Secondly, a Labour council candidate was arrested last week on suspicion of child porn offences. Needless to say, had he been a Tory it would have been the lead story on the BBC and in the national press.

This sanctimonious clique of naive peaceniks and leftist fellow travellers want us to fight the evil psychopaths who indiscriminately kill innocent men, women and children of all colours, creeds and religions with one arm tied behind our backs.

If waterboarding enemy combatants at Gitmo is what it takes to uncover Islamist plots, I really don't see what the problem is

No bluster, aggressiveness, or Punch & Judy there. No, sir. I make that one allegation of treason and one of plotting to suppress an accusation of paedophilia in three posts.

I'd take more care on legal issues if I were you.

It's always nice to welcome a new cretin to the comments section, Alex. Where do I accuse anyone of plotting to suppress an accusation of paedophilia? What drugs are you on to have written such nonsense?
